Joan’s on Third’s chili aioli
There are lots of things to pause over at Joan McNamara’s two shops — both places have shelves and cases and counters crowded with so many pastries, cheeses, candies and snacks that it’s hard to escape without enormous bags of stuff. But do not overlook the things in the refrigerated cases, where you’ll find little (far too little) cups of Joan’s dark orange spiced aioli. The stuff is insanely addictive. Really. We’ve been known to eat it by the spoonful, to buy three at a time, to hide it from our children. So we thought we’d get the recipe and get the kids to make it themselves.
In a small bowl, whisk together all ingredients until smooth. Taste and season as desired with salt and pepper.
