Police recover methadone bottles during traffic stop
Police recovered 32 bottles of methadone during a traffic stop on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Police stopped Michael Vartanian, 34, after reportedly observing him talking on his cell phone and not wearing a seat belt while driving a work van, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.
The driver reportedly told police he had a bottle of methadone inside the car without a prescription, Ryburn said.
A search of the vehicle yielded the 32 bottles.
Vartanian was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and was released after posting $10,000 bail.
