New Lush club requires no cover charge

Joyce Rudolph, Weekend

GLENDALE -- The owners of Lush nightclub, formerly Neon Moon, hope to

fulfill the community’s need for places to hear live music without a

cover charge.

Eric Tecosky and a group of investors took ownership Feb. 1. They also

run the Lush in Santa Monica.

Lush in Glendale offers no cover charge on Fridays and Saturdays with

a live disco band beginning at 10 p.m. and disc jockey H2O.

“We’ve been very successful in Santa Monica,” Tecosky said. “Glendale

doesn’t have a night life, and we feel the community here could benefit

from a club that offers a diverse variety of night life without a cover

charge.”

The club turns the discs to country western on Wednesdays, with dance

lessons beginning at 7:30 p.m. Dancing starts at 8, and there is a

one-drink minimum.

Live music continues throughout the rest of the week on Sundays,

Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. An ‘80s night on Thursdays will start

soon, Tecosky said.

Lush is also available for catered parties. The Santa Monica location

has catered parties for Mel Gibson, David Spade, Sarah Jessica Parker and

more of Hollywood’s elite.

“Our motto’s ‘It’s a lush life,”’ Tecosky said, adding that the name

is a double entendre -- people come to drink there and it’s a warm,

comfortable setting.

There is a room with pool tables, and another room decorated with faux

fur for private parties has its own bar and restrooms.
