Toon Disney looks for “animated kids”
GRIFFITH PARK -- Toon Disney and Dish Network invite children to a
free Sunday event that includes contests, prizes and interactive
games.
Children 4 to 14 can show their most animated side in a screen
test. The winner of the test will tour Walt Disney Studios and meet
with Disney animators who will animate the child to appear in a
cartoon.
A chance for children to try their hand at animating and a game
pavilion will also be featured activities.
The free event will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Griffith
Park, 4730 Crystal Springs Ave., near the carousel.
Warner Bros. holds job fair today
MEDIA DISTRICT WEST -- People who want to work for a studio can
apply for positions at Warner Bros. Studios job fair today.
The company is accepting applications for back lot staff including
carpenters, prop makers, laborers, metal shop workers and shop hands.
Food services is looking for cashiers, cooks, utility workers, wait
staff and more.
Applicants must bring two copies of a plain text, black-and-white
resume. Applications also accepted online at www.wbjobs.com.
The job fair is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at WB Studios Ranch,
411 N. Hollywood Way. Street parking only.
Actor to sign book Monday
NORTHWEST DISTRICT -- Actor Bruce Campbell will sign his new book
“If Chins Could Kill -- Confessions of a ‘B’ Movie Actor,” at Dark
Delicacies bookstore Monday.
Campbell has appeared in “Evil Dead,” “Spiderman,” and “Army of
Darkness.”
The event begins at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Dark Delicacies, 4213 W.
Burbank Blvd.

“Country Bears” artist to lecture
GRIFFITH PARK -- Artist, puppeteer and former Disney Imagineer
Terri Hardin will be a guest speaker at a free lecture.
Hardin will share information and materials about her experience
as a puppeteer on “The Country Bears.”
Sponsored by the local chapter of the National Fantasy Fan Club,
the Club for Disneyana Enthusiasts, the group welcomes nonmembers to
attend the event.
The free lecture will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Mary Pickford
Education Center at the Autry Museum of Western Heritage in Griffith
Park, 4700 Zoo Drive.

Shares of dick clark productions sold
MEDIA DISTRICT WEST -- A group of investors bought all outstanding
shares of dick clark productions, inc. for $136 million.
Founded in 1957, the Burbank-based company will continue to
operate as an independent television production entity, with Dick
Clark as the chairman and chief executive officer.
The merger means the corporation will no longer be publicly
traded.
