BURBANK POLICE DEPARTMENT
Volunteers are needed for Burbank Police Department Community
Outreach and Personnel Services. The program is seeking
community-oriented individuals who are willing to volunteer three to
four hours a week. The requirements are that those interested must
live or work in Burbank, have no felony convictions, be a current
U.S. citizen, have medical insurance, pass a background check and
graduate from the Burbank Police Department Community Academy Class.

THE MEDIA CITY BALLET
Needs help with fund-raising, membership drives, event planning
and production. Assistance with clerical administration, school
outreach, mailing, database input, sewing, painting and poster layout

PROVIDENCIA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Volunteer assistance is needed with everything from reading a book
to a child, to running off and counting out copies to go home with

BURBANK CHORALE
The Burbank Chorale seeks volunteers to help at concerts twice a
year -- two in December, and two in May. Help is needed ushering,
handing out programs, selling raffle tickets and serving

HOME-DELIVERED MEALS PROGRAM
Volunteer drivers are needed for the daily Burbank home-delivered
meals program, which supplies food to elderly residents who are
homebound. If you are available to deliver meals between 10:30 a.m.
and 12:30 p.m. any weekday, contact Dee Call at 238-5370. Volunteers
must have their own cars.
JOSLYN CENTER’S STAY-AT-HOME PROJECT
Volunteers are needed for the Joslyn Center’s Stay-at-Home
project. The goal of the project is to provide information to
seniors, their family and the community to prepare for successful
aging. Volunteers will be educated on issues of aging, available
resources and the necessity for planning for the future. Contact Dee

JOHN BURROUGHS HIGH SCHOOL
John Burroughs High School is looking for experienced, friendly
and hard-working volunteers to make copies for teachers and staff.
Run single, double-sided, stapled and sorted copies on a new copy
machine. Hours can be arranged around the volunteers’ schedules. If

AUTRY MUSEUM OF WESTERN HERITAGE
The Autry Museum is seeking enthusiastic individuals interested in
history to join its group of tour guides. The museum is at 4700

BURBANK ANIMAL SHELTER
Volunteers are needed to help care for and find homes for animals
at the shelter, which is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to
5 p.m. Saturday. For information, call 238-3340.
BURBANK TEMPORARY AID CENTER
Burbank Temporary Aid Center, which helps more than 2,000 poor and
homeless people each month with food, clothes and other emergency
assistance, is in need of volunteers to work one half-shift per week
in the following areas: Pantry; sorting and distributing food;
clothes house; sorting and distributing clothes; intake; and
interviewing clients and assessing their needs. Burbank Temporary Aid

BURBANK DISTRICT OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS
Volunteers are needed to serve as coordin- ators of disaster
volunteers. CDVs gain exper- ience in public speaking, management of
personnel and various projects, group dyna- mics and interpersonal
communication. No experience is necessary. Disaster volunteers are

Volunteers are needed at the Burbank District of the American Red
Cross-Los Angeles Chapter, 1001 W. Magnolia Blvd., to assist with
front-desk operations and blood services. Front-desk duties include
greeting clients and answering inquiries. Clerical experience is a
plus. Blood donors are at fixed sites and on bloodmobiles. Volunteers
are needed to work in the reception and canteen areas. Training is
