Adult photography classes now forming
MAGNOLIA PARK -- The photography program at Burbank Adult School
begins Monday, with classes in the new photo facility at John
Burroughs High School, 1920 Clark Ave.
Classes being offered include beginning photography, advanced
black-and-white lab, color photography and digital photography.
Students can register on the first day of each class. For class
times, days and fees, call 558-4611 or 558-4777, ext. 2113.
Zoo offers weekend programs for children
GRIFFITH PARK -- The Los Angeles Zoo will celebrate Latino
Heritage from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday. There will be arts
and crafts activities for children, mariachi music, children’s dance
groups and pinatas filled with special treats.
Mallory Lewis, daughter of puppeteer Shari Lewis, will appear at
11 a.m. and 1 p.m. today in the Grand Room. Appearing with Lewis will
be Zoey, a baby orangutan character from her 1990s book series, “Zoey
and Me.”
Adult admission is $9, children 2 to 12 are $4 each. The zoo is at
5333 Zoo Drive in Griffith Park.
