Volunteers honored

Fourteen Ticktockers of National Charity League, Burbank Chapter,
were recognized for six years of community service during the annual
Senior Presentation at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
They donated more than 9,300 hours to local organizations
including Burbank Temporary Aid Center, YMCA Child Care Center,
Burbank Center for the Retarded, the American Red Cross, the Burbank
Tournament of Roses and the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Assn.
A brief biography of each girl follows.
Damari Cristine Alvarez, daughter of Tito and Maria Alvarez, plans
to attend Glendale Community College and transfer to UCLA with a
major in dance and acting.
Rebecca Lynn Andreassen, daughter of Ronald and Vicki Andreassen,
will attend UC Berkeley and major in political science.
Lesley Aquino, daughter of Carlos and Ruby Aquino, plans to attend
UC Davis to become a veterinarian.
Chantal Josephine Arellano, daughter of Rudy and Rosario Arellano,
will attend Central Saint Martins in London in hopes of becoming a
fashion designer.
Nashla Nicole Barakat, daughter of Hayel and Nydia Barakat, will
attend Cal State Monterey Bay to major in marine biology.
Carli Elizabeth Brooks, daughter of Gregory and Dana Brooks, will
be attending Arizona State University majoring in broadcast
journalism.
Gabriela Danielle Carrasco, daughter of Anthony and Martha
Carrasco, will attend Loyola Marymount University to pursue a degree
in political science and ultimately attend law school to become an
entertainment lawyer.
Stacy Mayumi Hishinuma, daughter of James and Keiko Hishinuma,
will be attending UC Davis to pursue biology.
Kelsey Nicole Loucks, daughter of Glenn and Marianela Loucks, will
attend San Luis Obispo University and wants to become a teacher.
Amy Marie Moren, daughter of Matthew and Teresa Moren, has been
accepted to the Elliott School of International Affairs at George
Washington University.
Natalia Isabel Oliver, daughter of Enrique and Natalia Oliver,
will attend the Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts to pursue her
passion for performing.
Lauren Leigh Reeves, daughter of Eugene and Jamie Reeves, will
attend George Washington University and will major in human biology
and the classics.
Elizabeth Jean Tucker, daughter of Frank and Linda Tucker, will be
attending the University of San Francisco school of business.
Tyla Marie Vecchiarelli, daughter of James and Wendy Vecchiarelli,
will attend Cal State Long Beach and pursue the medical field.
