Federal investigators believe the man suspected of robbing Chase Bank in Burbank twice in the last 10 days is also linked to a Long Beach bank robbery and several other robbery attempts over the weekend.
The man, described as in his 50s, balding with salt-and-pepper hair and facial hair, walked up to the teller at the bank, located at 840 N. San Fernando Blvd., around 2:20 p.m. and demanded money by passing a note and verbalizing his demands, said Burbank Police Lt. John Dilibert. He was reportedly wearing a light-colored shirt with stripes.
The man reportedly fled after the teller, believing that the suspect could be armed, gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash.
Federal investigators believe the same man robbed the same Chase Bank last Saturday afternoon, according to FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller. The suspect had passed a note demanding money and fled with cash.
Authorities reportedly tied the man to a Long Beach bank robbery as well as several other robbery attempts, she said.
The FBI, along with Burbank police, is investigating the robberies.
Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call Burbank police at (818) 238-3210.
