Officials applauded the grand opening of a new $112-million transportation center at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank on Friday, called by many a significant step toward linking multiple types of transportation with the airfield.
The body of an Arcadia firefighter who has been missing for two weeks in a remote, rugged area of the Los Padres National Forest was found, authorities said Friday, according to KTLA.
Burbank Police Chief Scott LaChasse confirmed that Sgt. Mike Parrinello, who in the past has served as president of the Burbank Police Officers Assn., was placed on paid administrative leave, though he declined to reveal why.
In time for the 75th anniversary of Batman’s first appearance in Detective Comics, fans of the films can see all of the Warner Bros. movie props and memorabilia up close, including an unprecedented gathering of Batmobiles and other vehicles from all seven of the studio’s films.
The lead petitioner to open a new charter school on Burbank Boulevard -- a source of contention to some over the district’s decision to approve a school catered to Armenian immigrants -- said on Thursday its proposed location isn’t going to work out, but two public meetings slated to discuss the new school will be still held.
