Woman suspected of stealing, using teacher’s credit card
Police on Wednesday released surveillance photos of a woman suspected of stealing a credit card and money from a teacher’s purse at Bret Harte Elementary School in Burbank one afternoon earlier this month.
Between 2:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 7, the woman entered the campus, located at 3200 Jeffries Ave., and stole the belongings from an empty classroom, said Burbank Police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.
The woman, who is not a parent of any students, later reportedly used the card to make purchases at stores in Glendale and Burbank.
Police believe she’s a person of interest in similar crimes reported in La Crescenta and El Segundo.
Anyone who recognizes the woman or her vehicle is asked to call Burbank police at (818) 238-3210.
