Needle artists gather

The Susi Q Needle Art Guild meets from 1 to 3:30 p.m. the last Friday of every month at the center, 380 Third St. All levels of knitters and crocheters are invited to join. The group promotes needle art, needle art education and philanthropic support of community organizations including Mission Hospital Laguna Beach, and the Knots of Love Organization. Spanish classes online and in the classroom

The Cervantes Institute of Spain is offering classes that include in-person and Internet-based instruction from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays at the Susi Q Senior Center. The 16-week course can be started at any time, and the cost is $150. To sign up, call (949) 497-2441.

Coffee and talk

“Coffee Talk,” a place for people to share concerns and learn coping skills from Laguna residents and facilitators Kay Wenger and Debbie Seitz meets twice a month. The next meeting is 10 to 11 a.m. March 28. There is no charge. For more information, call (949) 4907-2441.

Alzheimer’s caregivers support

Anyone who is caring for a loved one suffering from some form of dementia may join an Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support group from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month at the Susi Q Senior Center. This is a free activity. For more information, call (949) 4907-2441.

Restorative exercise class

“The Pain Free Body,” a restorative exercise class, will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays at the Susi Q Senior Center, 380 Third St. The class will help relieve aching muscles and joints, and allow participants to return to normal activities. To register, call (949) 497-2441.

Free tax service offered

IRS trained volunteers will provide free basic tax assistance to those with middle to low income and with simple tax returns every Wednesday and Thursday morning at the Susi Q until April. Tax aide volunteers are trained to assist with filing form 1040 and other schedules including A and B. Call (949) 497-2441 for a free appointment.

Ballroom dancing lessons

Ballroom dancing lessons are offered Mondays at the Susi Q. Beginning lessons are from 1 to 2 p.m. and intermediate lessons are from 2 to 3 p.m. Each session costs $7. Couples and singles are welcome; appropriate shoes are required. To sign up, call (949) 497-2441.

Legacy Letter workshop set

A Legacy Letter writing workshop to leave with loved ones will take place from 9:30 to 11 a.m. beginning Wednesday at the Susi Q Senior Center. The cost is $75 and pre-payment is required. To register, call (949) 497-2441.

AARP driver course offered

AARP will present a four-hour driver safety course for those who have taken the eight-hour driver safety course within the past three years, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. March 31 at the Susi Q Senior Center. This refresher course is focused on safe driving strategies and defensive driving techniques. Course participants may be eligible to receive a discount on their auto insurance premiums.
