SUNDAY: Enjoy a guided tidepool walk at Pelican Point at 2 p.m. A volunteer will help identify animals. Meet at Pelican Point parking lot No. 2, near the parking lot (from Coast Highway, turn coastward at Newport Coast, right at the kiosk and left into the first lot.) $15 day-use parking fee.

Homelessness

The League of Women Voters holds a Town Meeting to consider the city’s response to the needs of homeless, 9:30 a.m. at the Neighborhood Congregational Church, 340 St. Ann’s Drive, Laguna Beach. Representatives from the city, Friendship Shelter, Laguna Beach Resource Center, and Mercy House have been invited to participate. Parks Volunteer Day

Join volunteers to help Laguna Canyon Foundation and OC Parks staff with restoration projects during Keep It Wild Volunteer Day from 8 to 11 a.m. Participants younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, Little Sycamore Canyon Staging Area/Nix Nature Center (west side of Laguna Canyon Road/SR-133, approximately 3.5 miles south of I-5/405). Birding Hike

Spot local native and fall migratory birds with Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteer naturalists from 8 to 11:30 a.m. on this 3.5-mile hike (700-foot elevation gain) over steep and uneven terrain through one of the most diverse plant communities in the United States. Meet at Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, Willow Canyon Staging Area (20101 Laguna Canyon Road, just south of El Toro Road intersection). Reservations required by calling (949) 923-2235. Parking is $3. Donation $2 per person.

7:30 p.m. every second and fourth Monday for Ecstatic Dance at the Laguna Beach Woman’s Club, 286 St. Ann’s Drive. $10 suggested donation.

Thanksgiving Eve Service

Kick off Thanksgiving at Laguna Presbyterian Church, which is hosting the Laguna Beach Interfaith Council’s Thanksgiving Eve Service from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jerry Tankserley will speak and bell and chancel choirs will perform. Community Thanksgiving Potluck

Join Laguna Beach’s traditional non-denominational Community Thanksgiving Feast at the Neighborhood Congregational Church, 340 St. Ann’s Drive, Laguna Beach. Attendees are encouraged to share a dessert or side dish to contribute to an estimated 600 to 700 meals that will be served. Fitness Hike

HelpBlueWater.com volunteers meet at noon on Sunday at Mozambique’s lower parking lot for a weekly beautification effort. Free parking available. To reward volunteers after the cleanup, Mozambique will provide a half-off lunch menu from 1 to 3 p.m. In addition, Mozambique will be showcasing British singer/songwriter, Jason Feddy.
