CRYSTAL COVE STATE PARK
Crystal Cove State Park, 8471 N. Coast Hwy, has 3.5 miles of beach and 2,000 acres of undeveloped woodland. $15 day-use parking fee.
The park is open 6 a.m. to sunset daily. Docent-led backcountry hikes are scheduled for 9 a.m. most Saturdays and Sundays. Hikes are three to five miles long, and last about two hours.
Little Treasure Cove Tidepool Walk: 2 p.m. Saturday: Join a Crystal Cove State Park docent on a guided tidepool walk to Little Treasure Cove (only accessible on the lowest of tides) when the tide will fall to -1.3, one of the lowest tide of the year. A volunteer will help identify animals. Meet at Pelican Point parking lot No. 1 (from Coast Highway, turn coastward at Newport Coast stoplight, right at the kiosk to the end). $15 day-use parking fee
Pelican Point Tidepool Walk: 2 p.m. Sunday. Enjoy a guided tidepool walk at Pelican Point when the tide will be -1.4. A volunteer will help identify animals. Meet at Pelican Point parking lot No. 2, near the parking lot (from Coast Highway, turn coastward at Newport Coast, right at the kiosk and left into the first lot.) $15 day-use parking fee
Photography Walk: 2 p.m. Sunday: Take your holiday card photos at beautiful Crystal Cove State Park on a docent led walk. Meet at the Los Trancos lot near the trailer. $15 day-use parking.
LAGUNA COAST WILDERNESS PARK

Rangers staff the park daily. Open 7 a.m. to sunset daily, including holidays. Parking lot hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Junior Ranger Program No. 4—Caring for Park Plants/Animals: 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Discover what local plants and animals need to survive and learn to use some of the tools rangers need to care for the park. (Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, Little Sycamore Canyon Staging Area/Nix Nature Center (west side of Laguna Canyon Road/SR-133, approximately 3.5 miles south of I-5/405). Elder Trek: 9 to 11:30 a.m. today. Enjoy the outdoors and learn about diverse plant life on this easy, level, 2-mile hike with Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteer naturalists. For ages 10 and up. Yoga for Adults: 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Enjoy a peaceful, 1.5-mile walk as you learn yoga stretches and breathing and relaxation exercises with Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteers.
