Trend Watch: Domino Party at H.B. library
Ole! The Huntington Beach Library will host the Mexican Train Domino Party from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Talbert Room, 7111 Talbert Ave.
The free popular domino event, which welcomes players of all ages and skill levels, is noncompetitive and limited to 50 people. Lessons will be offered for beginners, according to a news release.

Weekend swap meet at local college
There’s nothing like the swap meet for great finds, and the Golden West College Swap Meet takes place each weekend, rain or shine.
From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, the campus features a slew of vendors offering a range of goods. These include new and used items, fresh produce, flowers and antiques and collectibles, according to the school’s website.

Bloody Mary brunch at Charlie Palmer’s
Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale’s kicked off a new Bloody Mary Sunday brunch last weekend. The brunch features an appetizer, entree and unlimited Bloody Marys for $37.50, according to a news release.
Guests can choose from appetizer choices such as house-smoked sturgeon with potato shallot cake, caramelized onion and gruyere quiche, or a roasted heirloom beet salad with goat cheese fritter. New main courses include crab cake eggs benedict, braised chicken chilaquiles, Cuban pulled pork sandwich and French toast bread pudding, the news release said.
The Bloody Mary bar features six unique recipes and offers a selection of hot sauces and local veggies and pickles for garnishes.
The brunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sundays.
And on March 20, Chef Saekyeong Kim will host a brunch-themed cooking class. The class will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the restaurant and will help participants “create wow-factor brunch foods like gourmet French toast and tips for making perfect scrambled eggs, as well as the top secret recipe for our own signature Bloody Marys,” the news release said. Cost is $105 per person.

SOL Cocina starting Tequila Thursday
It’s Tequila Thursday at SOL Cocina starting March 21. From 6 to 8 p.m., SOL Cocina in Newport Beach will offer complimentary tastings in the bar and a featured tequila that will be offered at half-price that night, according to a news release.
Featured tequilas will include Don Juilio, Partida Tequila and Clase Azul.
SOL Cocina also will feature its own SOL Single Barrel Reposado Tequila, the restaurant’s tequila blend at Casa Noble’s Tequila distillery.
“This is our second barrel of our SOL Single Barrel Reposado Tequila, and we wanted to focus on the characteristics that our guests loved in the first barrel — after all, that’s what made it so popular served neat or in a margarita,” general manager Matt Baumayr said in a statement. “We are proud of this tequila — it’s balanced and versatile, with caramel and chocolate notes that make it an approachable sipping tequila with enough agave backbone to hold up in one of our hand-crafted cocktails.”

Go crazy for Ring Ching Ching
Newport Beach-based Ring Ching Ching is making quite the splash with its brightly designed pillow cases, laundry bags, cosmetic bags, pajama pants and boxer shorts, magnetic boards, picture frames and other items.
The line, created in 2009 by Jennifer Martin, started out as must-have items for modern sorority girls but has gained traction with moms, teens and others, thanks to its bold prints and colors, according to a news release.
