Pet of the Week

Community Animal Network has a volunteer who traps, spays and neuters stray and wild untouchable cats. This process helps control the pet overpopulation by releasing kitties back to the same property with their ear tip nipped to identify the cats that have been altered.

The system of TNR (trap, neuter and release) saves lives by avoiding the municipal shelter system for the animals who would not meet make good pets. However, when a property is no longer safe to return the cats, safe places are sought to release cats.

Buffy is a buff-orange tomcat who is unable to go back to his own neighborhood. Buffy is friendly to the person who feeds him, but cautious of strangers. Community Animal Network is hoping a Daily Pilot reader has a safe backyard to release Buffy where he can be watched after and fed; food and a monthly stipend would be provided.
