Pet of the Week

A local veterinarian’s wife rescued the mother and daughter cats from a family whose children she was tutoring. The family began feeding the hungry cats and allowed them in their “no pet” apartment.

The Community Animal Network has named the two beautiful cats Guinevere and Faye. They are now staying at a local Costa Mesa vet hospital until Community Animal Network can find a foster or permanent new home for the pair.

Guinevere is a medium-haired Lynx Point Siamese named after the Celtic “Cloud Goddess,” and her mother, Faye, is a diluted Calico cat.

On Saturdays, the cats are driven from the vet hospital by volunteers to the Fashion Island pet adoption events, from noon to 4 p.m., sponsored by Russo’s Pet Experience.

Rescue news: A man entered a local vet hospital and ordered that a purebred Havana Brown Siamese cat be euthanized. His mother had died the day before, and he could not find anyone to take her cat.
