Christmas, anyone? Roger’s Gardens boutique opens Friday

It’s not looking a lot like Christmas in most places yet. In fact, the Halloween Boutique that opened a month ago at Roger’s Gardens is still selling its spooky wares through October.

Nevertheless, the upscale garden store in Corona del Mar is rolling out its annual Christmas Boutique on Friday with 24 themed trees and holiday decor both traditional and contemporary.

The “Home for the Holidays” boutique runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Dec. 24.

The store has a series of other events on its calendar through the end of the year, including:

• “Wonder Land,” an exhibit of paintings of land and sea: Saturday through Dec. 31

• Pumpkin design demonstrations with carver Joseph Yakovetic: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

• Soup-making demonstration with chef Richard Mead: 9 to 10 a.m. Oct. 17

• Fall planting workshop: 9 to 10 a.m. Oct. 24

• Halloween Festival: Pumpkin decorating and carving contest, children’s costume parade and crafts. 4 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 30.

• “A Christmas Carol”: British actor and producer Gerald Dickens performs the literary classic by his great-great-grandfather Charles Dickens. 1 and 5 p.m. Nov. 14-15. $35 per person.

• Photos with Santa Claus: Noon to 6 p.m. weekends, Nov. 27 through Dec. 20

• All-American Boys Chorus: 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Nov. 29
