Current events discussion
A Current Events Discussion Group meets every Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Susi Q Senior Center, 380 Third St., Laguna Beach. The group consists of about 10 to 15 people who bring in a news article to discuss. A group facilitator helps to guide the discussion. The entire community is invited to participate. Needle Art Group meets
Knitters and crocheters are invited to meet once a month to learn new skills and collaborate on projects to benefit the community. The Needle Arts Group meets from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on the last Friday of the month, except during November and December, when the group will be meeting Nov. 19 and Dec.17. Alzheimer’s care workshop
The Alzheimer’s Association and ResCare Home Care have teamed up to present a workshop for family caregivers who have recently hired in-home care for their loved one or have moved their loved one to a care facility. Osteoporosis seminar slated
Geeta Singh, MSPT, will provide free information on osteoporosis, including: What is osteoporosis, the risk factors that you can and cannot control, bone structure and development, bone nutrition, medication options, and how exercise can impact bone health. Alzheimer’s Caregiver support
Those whose loved ones are affected by Alzheimer’s Disease are invited to an informational meeting and informal monthly discussion from noon to 1:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month at the Susi Q. Vic Mazmanian, volunteer support group leader, will share strategies on how to deal with your loved one who is affected by the disease.
