Soroptimist hosts holiday gala

Start the holidays with a champagne reception and casino games for charity.

Soroptimist International of Huntington Beach is hosting its annual Home for the Holidays Gala to raise money for its service projects.

Soroptimist is a volunteer service organization of professional women dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls locally and internationally.

The gala will feature a champagne reception, casino-style games, dinner and a silent and live auction.

There will also be a ballet performance of scenes from “The Nutcracker” by the Huntington Academy of Dance.

The gala is from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa, 21500 Pacific Coast Hwy.

Seats are $95 a person, or $900 for a table of 10. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for $1,500.
