Pet of The Week

Chyllon, a nearly 3-year-old Labrador retriever/pit bull mix, came to the shelter as a stray in November.

“Chyllon” is a variation on a Spanish word for “cry,” and this girl was so named because, in her first days at the Orange County Humane Society, she would often cry in her kennel. Fortunately, the sadness she felt at that time seems to have passed.

Now, she is happy to go on walks and, for a large dog (she weighs about 80 pounds), is surprisingly easy to handle on leash. She possesses a gentle personality and likes people, as well as other dogs who are not aggressive. Chyllon is spayed and would love to be chillin’ in your home instead of her lonely kennel.
