‘Savages’ movie trailer released
The movie poster and full trailer for the Laguna Beach-set movie “Savages” was released this week.
The trailer premiered exclusively on MTV.com on Thursday.
“Savages,” directed by Oliver Stone, is based off the Don Winslow novel of the same name.
The movie and book both take place in Laguna, and the cast and crew took over parts of Main Beach in September to film on location.
The film stars Taylor Kitsch, Blake Lively, Aaron Johnson, John Travolta, Salma Hayek, Benicio Del Toro and more.
The story centers around Ben (Johnson) and Chon (Kitsch), two Laguna Beach entrepreneurs who have a lucrative marijuana business and share their girlfriend, Ophelia (Lively). Trouble ensues when the Mexican drug cartel moves into town and tries to force the trio to work with them, according to the synopsis by Universal Pictures.
“Savages” is scheduled for a July 6 release.
