The Crowd: Clambake raises $144,000
More than 200 guests celebrated the Children’s Bureau Clambake at the Oak Creek Golf Club, Irvine, in early June.
The culinary staff of the Island Hotel in Newport Beach prepared a wonderful summer feast of barbecued steak and grilled lobster as the crowd enjoyed their dinner, interspersed with dancing under the stars to the music of the Dwight Kennedy Band.
To sweeten the party they included a “build your own smores station,” helping party planners raise an impressive $144,000 for the bureau’s child abuse prevention programs in Orange County.
Chaired by the dynamic duo of Newport’s Barbara Eidson and Brenda Walters, the evening was sponsored by the Crean Foundation, Disneyland Resort, Capital Group Cos., QBE First, the Bascom Group and more.
The bureau assists some 10,000 at risk children and parents each year providing services including counseling, healthcare, education and family resource options. To learn more go to https://www.all4kids.org.
