Snoopy House opens Friday
The daughter of “Peanuts” creator Charles M. Schulz will attend Friday’s grand-opening ceremony for the 46th annual Snoopy House.
Jill Schulz will serve as grand marshal for the festivities that begin at 5 p.m. at Costa Mesa City Hall, 77 Fair Drive.
The ceremony also features Snoopy from Knott’s Berry Farm, real snow, a light show, tree decorating, food trucks and Santa Claus.
For 44 years, the Snoopy House was an Eastside holiday tradition at the Jordan home on Santa Ana Avenue. After the home faced foreclosure last year, city officials offered up City Hall’s front lawn as the Snoopy House’s new location for Christmastime fun.
The display will be up from 5 to 9 p.m. daily beginning Friday through Christmas Day.
