Born to Stanley and Hazel Lomax in Evanston, Illinois, on February 27, 1928 passed

Away Dec. 5th 2010.

Bette grew up in Orange, attended Orange Union High School, and graduated from Santa Ana Junior College. In 1947 she was crowned Miss Orange. She attended UC Santa Barbara where she met her husband, Royal. Bette raised two daughters Marlene Dawsey of Everett, Washington and Georgia Contaxis of South Lake Tahoe, California. She was blessed to have three grandchildren, Daniel Dawsey, Janell and Andrew Contaxis.

Bette was an avid golfer and a member of the Newport Beach Country Club for more than

30 years. She played team golf, won many tournaments such as the President’s Cup,

was a board member for years and was the rules chairman.

Her heroic bout with Breast Cancer caused her to give up her golf and spend many

days with her many friends playing bridge.

She will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her, especially her family. Her beautiful spirit will live within us forever. We will be having a memorial service at Sea by the Neptune society some time in January.
