Arts Commission accepting grant applications

The Newport Beach Arts Commission is looking to help arts organizations that are trying to start up a program to enhance the community.

The commission is accepting applications for 2011-12 Newport Beach Cultural Arts Grants.

Applicants must be an arts organizations that offers cultural arts programs. The organizations must have strong projects that will enhance arts education and community programs that are geared toward youth, adults, seniors and local schools.

All applicants should be able to show a need, quantifiable success, a budget and an implementation plan.

To apply, fill out an application at https://www.newportbeachca.gov. All applications must be emailed to jbarbier@newportbeachca.gov, or delivered and received before 4 p.m. Sept. 30.

Deliveries can dropped off or mailed to Jana Barbier, Cultural Arts Services, Newport Beach Public Library, 1000 Avocado Ave., Newport Beach, CA 92660.
