Briefly In Business: Pure Light marks anniversaries
Pure Light Laguna Beach will celebrate its third anniversary at its original Laguna Beach location in May. The candle-making shop is also marking its first year at the Irvine Spectrum the same month.
To celebrate, the business is offering a free 13-minute Angel or Tarot card reading when you make a candle at the Laguna location and 31% off all candle-making during the weekend of May 16 and 16.

Pure Light is a create-your-own candle studio offering choices of fragrance, colors, candle shape and decorative items to make a one-of-a-kind candle. There is even a choice to add a message in a bottle for an exclusive note within the candle.
The original store is next to the Sawdust Festival on Laguna Canyon Road.
The Irvine Spectrum location is next door to Nordstrom and the Giant Wheel.
State of the City luncheon set
The Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual State of the City luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 14 at the Montage Resort & Spa.
Mayor Elizabeth Pearson will deliver the keynote address, and representatives from local and state officials will also be present, including: Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rep. John Campbell, State Sen. Tom Harman, Assemblyman Chuck Devore, and Supervisor Pat Bates.

UPS store collecting games
The Make-a-Wish Foundation and the UPS Store in North Laguna Beach have joined forces with OC-based nonprofit Donate Games to host a monthlong video game drive.
The event, “Spring Cleaning for a Cause” provides families the opportunity to clean out their gaming closets for a good cause.
A total of 75 Orange County UPS Store locations, including the one at 668 N. Coast Hwy., Laguna Beach, will be accepting donations of used video games, game consoles and game peripherals throughout the month.
Funds from the game drive will go toward medical research and granting wishes for children with rare diseases.
