Pet Of The Week
Paris
The pretty diluted Calico (grey, peach and white) named Paris is a de-clawed 6-year-old cat that needs a new home because her pet-parent has died. She is currently staying with a relative that is unable to keep her permanently.
Paris has a quiet manner about her and spends time with her loved ones on her own schedule; like many consider being just ordinary cat behavior. Her favorite nesting places are boxes and the laundry basket, but she will seek out the foot of your bed to be close to you for a good night’s rest.
Because Paris is not a wanderer, she is allowed on the patio to bask in the sun and watch the birds and chase butterflies in the summertime. During a “petting-session” Paris will let you know when she has had too much touch by swishing her tail. This common behavior in cats is called “petting aggression.” Pet parents just need to read the signals to live harmoniously with a cat that has this behavior; simply stop petting the cat at the first sign that it has had enough.

Meet Paris this Saturday and Sunday at the Fashion Island Pet Adoption event sponsored by Russo’s Pet Experience, noon to 4 p.m.
The 11-year-old cat named Max has found a new home due to the Community Animal Network thoroughly providing for his vet medical needs prior to his adoption. His bill for dental services. which included X-rays, was $ 528 and includes a rescue discount.
Community Animal Network provides veterinary services for older animals because we know that no one wants to “adopt a vet bill.”
The public has now donated $1,951.00 to help us with the costs of rescues. We sincerely thank you and look forward to your continued help this holiday and into the new year.
Local people are still needed to support the cost of rescues, so please consider supporting local animals by mailing your checks to Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA, 92658. Memo your check “Help Local Animals.” The nonprofit tax ID is 33-0971560.
