Giant snowflakes provide ‘lights of love’ in Huntington Beach

The Huntington Beach Pier donned giant glowing snowflakes Sunday evening for the annual Light a Light of Love holiday celebration.

The event included the lighting of more than 80 6-foot-tall snowflakes on the pier and throughout Main Street, along with a children’s parade with grand marshal and Angels infielder David Fletcher, Surf City Santa and Mrs. Claus, high school marching bands and other performers.

The snowflakes were sponsored by groups, businesses and individuals, with proceeds supporting Waymakers’ Huntington Beach Youth Shelter. Waymakers offers shelter and crisis services for homeless and other struggling youths ages 11 to 17.
