The Orange County Health Care Agency announced Thursday its Disneyland COVID-19 vaccination site will be closed Friday due to heavy rains anticipated for the county’s inland and coastal areas, though a second site at Soka University will remain operational.

No appointments were booked for the Anaheim super site, officials said on social media, so rescheduling was not necessary. Friday’s shuttering marks the fourth weather-related closure since the Dinseyland lot opened Jan. 13 to residents over 65 and other Phase 1A eligible candidates.

Meanwhile, new coronavirus infections and COVID-19 hospitalizations continued to decline, as county health officials Thursday recorded 1,276 new cases of coronavirus and 29 deaths.

Orange County’s cumulative case count now stands at 228,297, with 2,868 having died from COVID-19.

Area hospitals reported treating 1,592 residents for COVID-19, nearly 28% of whom — or 439 individuals — were being cared for in intensive care units, the agency reported.
