Huntington Beach man arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of minor

A Huntington Beach man was arrested on suspicion of the sexual assault of a minor on Tuesday.

Police said officers received an initial report on Roy “Beau” Barnhart, 43, indicating that Barnhart sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl earlier in the day Tuesday. Officers said that investigators established probable cause and arrested Barnhart at 8:50 a.m. at his residence in Huntington Beach on Thursday.

Lt. Brian Smith said that bail was set at $100,000. Barnhart has since posted bail and is no longer in custody.
