Huntington Beach man pleads not guilty to charges of repeated sexual assault of a minor

A Huntington Beach man pleaded not guilty this week to felony charges for the repeated sexual assault of a minor since at least 2015.

Orlando Maldonadohuerta, 27, is charged with 10 counts of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10 or less years of age; one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 years of age or seven years younger than the defendant; one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child; and five counts of lewd or lascivious act with minor under 14 years of age, according to court records.

He pleaded not guilty to all charges in an arraignment in custody hearing at the Central Justice Center on Friday morning.

Maldonadohuerta was arrested in early July after the alleged victim, who police confirmed is now a teenager, reported him to the Huntington Beach Police Department. Further details identifying the victim are withheld due to the nature of the crime.

Maldonadohuerta remains in custody on a bail of $1 million and is scheduled to appear at the West Justice Center for a pre-trial mandatory settlement conference and bail hearing on Oct. 22.
