Newport Beach police are searching for four suspects involved in a jewelry robbery near Fashion Island on Monday afternoon.
The crime occurred at around 3 p.m. at JB Diamonds & Fine Jewelry at 369 San Miguel Drive.
The suspects, all wearing hoodies, masks and gloves, used hammers to break the cases and fled with an unspecified amount of jewelry and multiple jewelry cases. No weapons beyond the hammers were believed to be involved in the incident.
Department spokeswoman Heather Rangel said the total estimated loss is currently unknown.
