Huntington Beach resident arrested in drug trafficking investigation

A Huntington Beach resident was taken into custody by Fountain Valley police last week in connection with an ongoing investigation tracking a drug ring in Orange County.

Garrett Robert Tiebens, 20, was arrested on April 14 after the Fountain Valley crime suppression unit executed a search warrant on his home.

The search found Tiebens to have allegedly been in possession of illegal narcotics — including counterfeit pills — and firearms, authorities said. The narcotics included about 10,400 “Xanax” and 840 “Percocet” pills, as well as 3.5 ounces of psilocybin, ecstasy pills and Adderall. The recovered narcotics have a street value that exceeds $75,000, according to the release put out by the Fountain Valley Police Department.

Police also said they recovered a loaded weapon — a Glock-style ghost gun containing a high-capacity magazine — and $3,500. Tiebens is under the legal age to own a handgun.

According to Orange County jail records, Tiebens posted bond and was released on April 15.
