Sally’s Fund offers transport

Laguna Beach seniors may obtain a ride to the Susi Q Senior Center for lunch or activities by calling Sally’s Fund at (949) 715-1866. Those seeking rides should call ahead of time to make sure they can be accommodated. For all other services, such as transportation to doctor appointments, physical therapy, grocery shopping, and errands, call (949) 499-4100.

Fall prevention lecture is July 15

Geeta Singh will presenting an informational lecture on fall prevention 10 to 11 a.m. July 15 at the Susi Q Senior Center, 380 Third St. Items being discussed include the statistics of falls in the senior population, factors that contribute to falls, assessing one’s risk for future falls, and preventing a future fall. Health care reform is topic

The Council on Aging will present a seminar titled, “Health Care Reform and Its Affects on Medicare” from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wed., July 21 at the Susi Q Senior Center. Subjects include: Health Care Reform Bills; Impact on Medicare (Part D Coverage Gap Rebate, Medicare Advantage, Part B and D Premiums, Expanded preventive Services, part D Low Income Subsidy); and Health Care Reform and Medicare spending. Birthday Bingo is a monthly event

The National Charity League sponsors a monthly Birthday Celebration Bingo event at the Susi Q from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Third Wednesdays. All are welcome for an hour of bingo, prizes, light refreshments, and birthday acknowledgements. Free. For more information, call (949) 497-2441.
