Luxury movie theater may hit Laguna Niguel
Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas, which is based in Latin America, may open its third U.S. location in Laguna Niguel next year.
Shea Properties issued a press release Aug. 10 announcing the addition to Ocean Ranch Laguna Niguel, which would replace the Edwards Ocean Ranch 7, whose lease is up at the end of the month.
Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas are known for state-of-the art theaters, leather recliner seating, in-seat waiter service, a full-service bar, patio dining and gourmet food. They recently opened their first U.S. location in Del Mar and plan to open another in La Costa in the coming months.
It is the largest movie chain in Latin America and fourth largest in the world, according to J Public Relations, which represents Cinépolis’ Del Mar location.
Tickets would most likely range from $13.50 to $19.50, depending on children, adult or matinee prices, similar to their Del Mar location.
J Public Relations spoke on behalf of Cinépolis Managing Director Carlos Wellman and said that the agreement is not finalized.
Cinépolis confirms they are looking at that location, said Stephenie Medina, publicist at J Public Relations. She said the lease has not been signed nor has a construction timeline or opening date been confirmed.
“If all goes well, that’s where they will be,” Medina said.
Although J Public Relations could not confirm that Cinépolis will take the space, Cinépolis’ website does include Laguna Niguel in its list of locations and says “Coming Soon.”
