Women’s boutique Panache Laguna now open

Women’s clothing boutique Panache Laguna has opened.

The shop carries shoes, purses, perfumes and home décor. There are also select items, such as shirts and ties, on sale for men.

Panache Laguna is at 664 S. Coast Highway. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday; (949) 491-2781.

Water district GM announces retirement

South Coast Water District General Manager Michael Dunbar is retiring, effective Oct. 12.

The announcement was made at a special board meeting Sept. 28, where it was also announced that the board has appointed Assistant General Manager and District Counsel Betty Burnett as interim general manager, according to a news release.

Dunbar was with the water district for 25 years. He started as a district engineer.

“Mike has served the district for so many years and has done an outstanding job — each of the board members and all of the staff of the district will miss him and long remember his service and dedication,” board President Wayne Rayfield said in a statement.

Women’s fashion boutique opens in Laguna

Laguna Niguel resident Kendra Pearce has opened a new clothing shop, Taim, Irish for “I am.”

The women’s boutique offers a range of lines such as Patterson J Kincaid, Dolce Vita, Fresh Laundry, Mavi Jean and Havaianas.

Taim is at 1259 S. Coast Highway. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; (949) 715-4200.

Visitors bureau nabs Magellan award

The Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau received a Silver Magellan Award for best mobile app for a destination by Travel Weekly, according to a news release.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award. Spearheading a mobile app for Laguna Beach had been on our radar for more than a year. Working with Phondini Partners as our app developer and in cooperation with the City of Laguna Beach and our board of directors, it came to fruition,” said Judith Bijlani, president and CEO of the visitors bureau, in a statement.

Wellness shop opens in town

Glow Boutique + Wellness, a shop that combines clothes with traditional Chinese medicine such as acupuncture and herbs, has opened up at 1891 S. Coast Highway.
