Two arrested in Ecstasy investigation
Laguna Beach Police detectives arrested two men Wednesday following an investigation into the alleged trafficking of Ecstasy, according to authorities.
The detectives arranged to meet with Gee Kim, 21, of La Palma and Dennis Oh, 21 of Anaheim at Cal State Fullerton to buy Ecstasy about 9 p.m., according to a news release. A search of Kim’s vehicle recovered 5,000 pills with an estimated street value of $50,000. The investigation is still on going, detectives said.
This is the second large-scale Ecstasy investigation and arrest by Laguna detectives, according to the release. In April, detectives arrested Carolyn Kim for possession of 2,000 Ecstasy pills for sale. There is no known familial relationship. Although, there is evidence to show that the two Kims know each other.
Ecstasy is a controlled substance commonly used and abused at rave parties and is a central nervous system stimulant causing symptoms similar to methamphetamine use, according to the release.
