Two arrested at alleged marijuana farm

A Laguna Beach man was arrested at 2:16 a.m. Dec. 23 after police allegedly discovered an elaborate marijuana farm in his home in the 20000 block of Stans Lane, Sgt. Louise Callus said.

Anthony Heineman, 44, had called police apparently in fear after two men appeared at the home claiming to be FBI agents with warrants, Callus said. The men broke a window, and apparently fled when Heineman called police.

Police who responded to the location said that Heineman was acting “suspicious” and a records check revealed an outstanding no bail warrant on a drug possession charge. Searching the home, police allegedly discovered about 75 marijuana plants. Heineman told police he was watching the house for another person identified as Guy Delgado. Delgado, a Huntington Beach resident, turned up later at the home and both were arrested on suspicion of drug possession.

Police believe the “FBI agents” actually intended to steal from the home.

Delgado, 42, posted $20,000 bail and was released from Orange County Jail, according to jail records. Heineman remains in custody without bail.

Woman accused of mail theft

A Santa Ana woman was arrested after police allegedly found mail from Laguna Beach mailboxes in her possession at 6:56 a.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of South Coast Highway, Callus said.

Teresa Gonzalez, 37, had allegedly been seen going through four to five mailboxes in the area, according to police records. Police located Gonzalez, who allegedly had a background in identity theft, and arrested her. She was also arrested on suspicion of possession of prescription pills and methamphetamine, and was held on $100,000 bail in Orange County Jail, according to jail records.

Woman thrown 80 feet in crosswalk collision

A 27-year-old woman was seriously injured after she was struck by a vehicle and thrown 80 feet at a crosswalk at Calliope Street and S. Coast Hwy. at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, Callus said.

The pedestrian landed under the rear portion of a parked vehicle after being struck by a Mercedes driven by a 27-year-old San Diego man.

The driver submitted to a breath and blood test that showed no alcohol in his system, Callus said. He was released to a relative and his vehicle impounded for further investigation.

The woman was transported to Mission Hospital Mission Viejo with a broken scapula, broken pelvis, and a broken fibula. She had been wearing dark clothing while crossing eastbound in the crosswalk, Callus said.
