Want to be a lifeguard? Tryouts in February, March

Rookie and seasonal lifeguard tryouts will take place Feb. 28 and March 14 at Main Beach in Laguna Beach.

Attendance at one session is required. Sign-ins begin at 7:30 a.m. each day at the white tower, and candidates must be ready to enter the water at 9 a.m.

Exceptions or late arrivals will not be accepted, according to a news release.

Online applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. Feb. 26. A physical testing and training waiver must also be submitted before entering the water.
