Members sought for city’s environment committee

Laguna Beach is accepting applications until 5 p.m. Friday from residents willing to serve on the city’s Environmental Sustainability Committee, according to a news release.

The committee, which researches issues and policies related to protecting the environment and improving the community’s sustainability and then advises the City Council, consists of seven members who serve two-year terms. The council will interview all candidates at its March 17 meeting and select four people.

Members, who must be Laguna residents, spend 10 to 15 hours a month on committee assignments and meetings. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Applications can be found on the city’s website, lagunabeachcity.net, or at City Clerk Lisette Chel-Walker’s office at City Hall, 505 Forest Ave.

The council’s March 17 meeting begins at 6 p.m.
