Heritage Committee seats are open

The Laguna Beach City Council is accepting applications for positions on the Heritage Committee, according to a news release.

Interviews for four of nine committee positions will be conducted at the regular council meeting at 6 p.m. April 22 at City Hall, 505 Forest Ave. All applicants will be interviewed.

The Heritage Committee, which generally meets once a month, advises on matters pertaining to historic preservation such as placement of a structure on the historic register; removal of a structure from the register; creation of a special designation plaque program; alterations to structures; and demolition of historic structures in a commercial zone.

Laguna Beach residents who are interested in serving a two-year term on this committee should obtain an application from the city clerk’s office or online at https://www.lagunabeachcity.net and file by 5 p.m. April 11.
