Public workshop to focus on Village Entrance Project

Laguna Beach will kick off the conceptual design phase of the Village Entrance Project with a community workshop on June 23.

The workshop will be one of several opportunities for the public to participate in the design of the site, near Laguna Canyon Road and Forest Avenue, according to a news release.

The area is currently used for parking and storage and includes an active sewer lift station. City officials want to beautify the site with landscaping and a renovation of the historic sewer digester building. Pathways for pedestrians and bicylists could also be added.

The workshop begins at 6 p.m. at council chambers in City Hall, 505 Forest Ave., and includes a walking tour of the site.

The city will also launch an interactive website to foster participation, the release says.
