Literacy fundraiser nets $10,000

Laguna Beach-based band F-Jamz entertained guests at the Marine Room during a literacy fundraiser June 11.

One hundred guests enjoyed music and raised $10,000 for Literacy Project Foundation reading programs, foundation program Director Kimberly Vig wrote in an email. Foundation board member JoAnn Albers donated half of the amount raised, Vig added.

The foundation, based in Corona del Mar, works to boost literacy rates among children, according to the organization’s website.
