Sports Swap nets profits for Thurston Middle School’s PTA

Thurston Middle School’s annual Sports Swap generated about $15,600, a portion of which is headed to the school’s Parent Teacher Assn., organizer Melissa Roller wrote in an email.

Saturday’s event allowed parents to sell used sports equipment, which included 38 bicycles, 19 surfboards, 11 snowboards, 15 skimboards, 47 wetsuits, 22 baseball gloves, 14 tennis rackets, 123 hats and 11 sets of skis.

Roller said a majority of the items were donated.
