Robert Thurston (Hap) Boyd<br/>May 16, 1939 - August 13, 2014
Hap Boyd, born in Santa Ana, California, to Robert Keene and Doris Thurston Boyd of Laguna Beach. He lived and attended school in Laguna Beach and graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Alumni of Phi Delta Theta. Earned his master’s degree from Cal State Fullerton and his law degree from J.F. Kennedy School of Law. He worked in governmental affairs for 25 years, diligently working with federal and state legislators to improve and promote the implementation of wind and alternative sources of energy. From the capitol halls of Sacramento to the corridors of power in Washington, D.C., he was the smiling face of the wind industry. His steady hand and patient cheerfulness made him many friends. He retired in 2010.
Survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sandy, daughter Caprice and husband Rick Woodburn and three wonderful grandchildren, Jeff and wife Lindsey, Jared and Connor in Florida; son Bryan and fiancé John, and son Dylan and wife Ryen with dear grandsons Hayden and Hudson in Oregon; brothers Bo (deceased), Kelly and Randy of Laguna Beach and sister Cindy Chudley of England. He will forever be remembered as an honest, fair, good and gentle man who loved his family and was respected by many.
Services will be held in Laguna Beach to be announced at a later date.
