Film festival volunteers needed
The organizers of the Newport Beach Film Festival are seeking volunteers for this year’s event and will host a pair of orientation sessions this week.
The first session, which lasts from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Oasis Senior Center, 801 Narcissus Ave., is the third for prospective volunteers after earlier ones at Oasis and the old City Council Chambers. A final orientation will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the chambers at 3300 Newport Blvd.
Anyone who wants to volunteer at this year’s festival must attend one orientation.
Among the volunteer opportunities for the festival, which runs from April 25 to May 2, are office reception, merchandise sales and ushering, according to a release. Volunteers younger than 18 must bring a signed parental consent form, and those younger than 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
