OCC professor honored
An Orange Coast College art instructor is being honored Wednesday by students for her humanitarian work.
Irini Rickerson will be awarded Humanitarian of the Year by the campus’ Extended Opportunities Programs and Services (EOPS) at 3 p.m. in the student lounge, 2701 Fairview Road.
EOPS is a state-funded academic counseling program to support full-time students who need additional help.
Rickerson puts on a yearly AIDS benefit using her knowledge of art and architecture.
Tickets to the recognition party are $10, and all proceeds will support the EOPS Honors Club scholarships.
