McCarthy receives corporate award

Newport Beach-based McCarthy Building Cos. was honored last week with a 2011 Corporate University Xchange Award for Excellence and Innovation.

The CorpU award “recognizes outstanding work in corporate learning and talent development,” according to a news release.

“Operating in today’s business world is more complicated than ever,” Mike Bolen, chairman and company chief executive officer, said in a prepared statement. “Through McCarthy Build U we are able to provide our employee-owners with a comprehensive training and development program designed to result in both short- and long-term success. To be included among this year’s CorpU Xchange award winners is truly an honor.”

McCarthy Build U, the formal training program for the company, has been in use since 2008.
