Animators give tips, advice at Coastline panel

Coastline Community College is hosting a free digital media event Friday.

The Fountain Valley-based college is putting on “How to land a career in digital media: Tips for aspiring artists” from 3 to 5 p.m. at the college’s Garden Grove campus, 12901 Euclid St.

The event will feature local industry professionals Frank Gladstone, who has worked at the Walt Disney Co., Warner Bros. and DreamWorks, and Jeff Clendenning, the lead concept artist at Interplay Entertainment Corp.

Gladstone has worked on “Shark Tale” and “Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas.”

Both professionals will share tips on breaking into the field, what education and experience is required, and will answer audience questions.

The event is free, but registration is required. To register, email event coordinator Brenda Bass at bbass@coastline.edu. A limited number of seats are available.
