Pedestrian struck by bat, robbed
Police are looking for two men who attacked a pedestrian with a baseball bat and stole his wallet in Costa Mesa on Tuesday.
The victim had parked his car in the 600 block of Plumer Street about 8:35 p.m. when he stepped out of his car and was attacked from behind, said Costa Mesa Police Lt. Bryan Glass.
One attacker hit him in the head with a bat when a second man joined the attack. The men stole the victim’s wallet and cell phone and ran off when a witness approached them, Glass said.
The victim was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
